The co-founders, CEO (Paul Docherty) and CFO (Rex Harrison) worked together successfully within Marconi (now Ericsson) before launching i-nexus. The executive team is further strengthened by two experienced non-executives on the board who are also minority investors in the company:
Richard Cunningham is currently Chairman of a number of early stage technology companies and a consultant to Herald Ventures, a leading early stage technology venture capital fund and investor in i-nexus. Herald Ventures, part of Herald Investment Management, is one of the largest pure technology investors in Europe, investing in early stage technology businesses and Richard sits on its investment committee.
In 1991 Richard joined Project Telecommunications Ltd as Joint Managing Director, and was responsible for finance, technology and operations. Project Telecommunications Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary of Project Telecom plc which was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2000. Richard became the Group Finance Director and was central to the growth of the company from its embryonic stage through its flotation in 2000 to its eventual sale in 2003. The company was acquired in September 2003 for £165m in cash by Vodafone plc.
Previously Richard was a Vice President of Citicorp Investment Bank, specializing in European electronics and telecommunications, having had experience in equity analysis and corporate finance at Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers. He started his working life at Ratheon and then Texas Instruments having gained his degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bristol University.
Neil Sutcliffe worked for fifteen years in the telecommunications equipment sector for Marconi plc. Prior to 2001, he served as the CEO of Marconi’s Services division where he initiated and lead a substantial Six Sigma program. Between 2001 and 2006 he played a central role in the rehabilitation and turnaround of the company following it’s financial distress. Ultimately, he served as Chief Operating Officer, prior to the sale of the business to Ericsson of Sweden in early 2006.
Neil now provides consulting and advisory services to enterprises, specializing in operational management and business turnarounds. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director for Comply Serve, a provider of web-based project compliance solutions for highly regulated industries.
Paul Docherty started his career in Marconi, where he held a wide range of management roles covering manufacturing, IT, sales, product development, project management, Six Sigma and corporate strategy as well as having P&L responsibility for the growth of a regional services business. His understanding of the challenges of embedding Six Sigma and other performance improvement methodologies into the fabric of organizations comes from his experience coaching senior management teams in many Global 500 companies and from leading the deployment of Six Sigma at Marconi.
Paul was a co-founder of i-solutions Global in 2001, and has spearheaded its rapid expansion into the preferred global deployment partner for Lean Six Sigma and Strategy Execution programs. Paul holds a MEng in Computer Systems and Software Engineering from the University of York and an MBA from the University of Warwick.
Rex is CFO and a co-founder of i-nexus. He is responsible for directing the corporate governance, financial, commercial and the HR strategy underpinning the Company’s exceptional 100%+ software sales growth per annum to date. He was instrumental in the recent venture capital fund raising by i-nexus and is an executive board member.
Rex brings with him over 20 years financial and commercial management experience gained across the Engineering construction, professional services and technology sectors working directly and indirectly for industry heavyweights such as Lendlease (Bovis), Foster Wheeler Inc., Pfizer, BP and Marconi Communications (now owned by Ericsson) . He has held financial and commercial responsibility for a number of enterprises and projects with annual budgets ranging from £1m to £200m within Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.
