Mission and Values

i-nexus V4 Foundational Qualities

i-nexus V4 has been designed, architected and built to support large scale deployment from 10 to 10,000 users. Software products typically reach maturity based upon the founding teams’ vision and the voice of their customers. Some companies do not learn that their will be a critical stage where their product needs to step up to the next phase of maturity. i-nexus recognised 3 years ago that we were approaching the stage were a complete re-write would be necessary to enable the product to meet our shared aspirations with our customers. Seven million Euros later we have completed our pilot roll-outs of i-nexus V4 and in April 2009 it will be available to the general marketplace.

In undertaking this complete re-write we have focussed on the following foundational capabilities:

Software as a Service (SaaS)

Is a fundamental component in the flexible and reliable delivery of our software product. Customers can now choose whether we host i-nexus for them or whether they wish to host the software themselves under their own internal or external hosting arrangements. No desktop upgrades are required and the user merely consumes the latest proven release of the software. Within this architecture we have further focussed on configurability, performance and reliability, to ensure that the lessons learnt in earlier versions have been applied to enable large scale deployments with efficient design and an architecture that fully supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and is 100% based upon a Services Orientated Architecture (SOA).

Usability

The importance of intuitive design, is to enable the end user to understand the software without having to be trained. To achieve this we have added capabilities to enable organisations to amend our standard roles and configure capabilities and screen layouts that reflect their processes and terminology exactly. The terminology can then be translated into multiple languages. We have placed emphasis on e-learning, providing a “second-life” within i-nexus in the form of Avatars that take the user through their role and specific steps. Should the user require help then this is now entirely context and role orientated with direct links into the appropriate sub-section of the e-learning “second-life”.

Security

A powerful and comprehensive security model has been implemented within i-nexus. The power comes from its configurability to support and protect data held within and to permit controlled secure access by all stakeholders, be they employees of the organisation, suppliers or third party service providers.

Integration

We have recognised that for i-nexus to become the market leader integration to data sources, third party tools and presentation layers are vitally important in ensuring the long term success in our customer deployments. i-nexus V4 through SOA architecture is both an application and an integration platform utilising multiple methods of presentation.

Evolutionary

We have launched i-nexus V4 with a rich initial set of functionality which can be controlled through licences editions and configured to meet user needs today, the products architecture enables the product to evolve and add new functionality and transform the way we present it through the envisaged minimum 5 year life time for the V4 platform thus ensuring ours and our customers investments in i-nexus.
