Business Execution software specialists, i-nexus, is looking ahead to a positive 2011 on the back of an exceptional year of growth in 2010.

The fast-growing software provider, who celebrates 10 successful years this year, highlights increased ROI from existing customers, alongside the addition of global leaders such as Best Buy and 3M to its client portfolio, as key factors in achieving 40% growth year on year.  Significant investment in R&D also saw i-nexus introduce new software solutions for Capital Expenditure, Benefits Tracking, and Carbon and Energy Management to its Business Execution software category.

Public sector spending cuts delivered the i-nexus way

The Coalition Government  announced the outcome of its much anticipated ‘Comprehensive Spending Review 2010’ which will see a number of large-scale reductions, including an average 19% four-year cut in departmental budgets, an annual reduction of 4% in police funding and an additional £7bn in welfare budget cuts. It is expected that these cuts will result in public sector job losses of around 490,000 in the next four years.

With public finances in a poor state and total UK debt expected to reach £900bn in the next few years, the real challenge lies in how the spending reductions are executed. In order to minimise the impact on critical frontline services it is essential that every attempt is made to effect the savings through improvements in operating efficiency or elimination of wasteful activity.

As covered in national press this week, 35 UK business leaders have written a letter of support for the Government’s plans to tackle the budget deficit head-on, however, the opposition is warning that cuts made too deeply and too quickly risk years of stagnation. Something that i-nexus chairman, Neil Sutcliffe, covered on a recent webinar hosted with customer Sharon Webber, business quality manager for public sector organisation Welsh Health Supplies.

With cuts putting unprecedented strain on Whitehall departments’ abilities to deliver the same service with a much-reduced budget and a leaner workforce, the need for successful execution of operational excellence programs, such as Lean Six Sigma, is crucial.

Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta), the leading provider of fixed line telecommunications, mobile telecommunications and Internet access in Cyprus, adopted i-nexus in 2007 to enable the company to track and ensure delivery of improvements under the model of EFQM, a foundation which seeks to support organizations and their senior leaders in their need to implement strategies and operational excellence.

Following that success, the Board of Cyta has now mandated that i-nexus will be used to track the performance of its strategic objectives using the Balanced Scorecard approach, and i-nexus will be the one tool to track the performance and status of all project activity within Cyta.

i-nexus was introduced to Cyta by its Business Planning Department, which is the business unit responsible for the company`s strategy and finance planning. “i-nexus was purchased by Cyta to support a more effective deployment of its strategy. i-nexus web based software gives Cyta the visibility of its performance gaps, gives clear ownership of KPIs and improvement activity, and allows them to track activities as they move the performance dials. The software helped the company to define clearer targets and to provide strategic reports to its directors, with visibility of all projects where intervention is required. i-nexus also allows Cyta to automate the capturing of KPI data, due to its ability to import the data from different systems. In addition, i-nexus software is the tool used by the Senior Management team to report performance at Board meetings. The European Six Sigma Club (ESSC) 2010 took place from 4 to 5 March 2010, in Sindelfingen, Germany, and brought together Six Sigma experts to discuss methodologies and the latest standards for the use of Six Sigma.

One of i-nexus customers, Heribert Braun, Master Black Belt, from Generali Deutschland Holding AG, has talked about the creation of the Lean Six sigma program AGIL. i-nexus welcomed all participants to its stand at the conference, where the company explained how i-nexus V10 can support large organizations to more efficiently track Lean Six Sigma programs.
